Board Certified Behaviour Analyst / Behaviour Consultant

Social Butterflies Activities and Learning is growing and looking to add another Behaviour Analyst or Behaviour Consultant to our team. The successful candidate may be a Behaviour Consultant, however, preference will be given to a BCBA or individual working towards BCBA certification. We are looking for a skilled individual to assist us in supporting children and families in our community, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The successful candidate will work with clients ranging from ages 2 - to 18 years.  The position will primarily be clinic-based but at times may require going out to community settings or family homes. The individual should be passionate and dedicated to enriching the lives of our clients and families. This position is a part-time (20 hours per week) leading to a full-time position as your client base increases.  Immediate start is available with a quickly growing client list.

*For those either currently enrolled in a verified course sequence or graduated from a verified course sequence working towards BCBA certification, supervision toward completion can be provided. *

 

Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working directly with children on the autism spectrum

  • A minimum of 6 months-1 year assessing, implementing, and supervising programs within an Applied Behaviour Analysis framework.

  • Willingness to obtain First Aid if needed.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

  • Valid BC Drivers Licence and reliable transportation

  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening

  • Ability to help develop and be supportive of Behaviour Interventionists

  • Experience or certification with Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is also preferred ​

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate initial intake interviews with parents and/or caregivers

  • Conduct and oversee a variety of assessments using various resources such as VB-MAPP, ESDM, ABLLS-R, etc.

  • Conduct functional assessments

  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans and programs

  • Train Behaviour Interventionists, parents/caregivers, or other applicable parties on program implementation

  • Writing monthly summaries and program reviews

  • Management of data collection systems

  • Providing support in crisis situations

  • Complete ongoing monitoring and evaluation of all individualized behavioural plans.

  • Overseeing staff and client scheduling

  • Maintain professional and ethical standards as outlined by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) ( if applicable)

  • Meet all requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for continuing education and renewal and/or recertification requirements ( if applicable)

Post-Secondary Education Requirements:

  • Masters Degree

  • Preferred: Board Certified Behaviour Analysis Certification or in the process of working towards completion.
